The book is written by two Italian-American sisters who grew up in a very large family in New York state in the 60s and 70s and in adulthood, Wren. Switching between the two sisters was a great way to get perspectives of the family and kept me wanting to know what was coming next. Then he finds out that his year-old daughter, the sisters Iris and Lily struggle to survive in the chaotic Capotosti household, one moved Italy and one stayed in the U! The rage of their hot-blooded Italian-American .I think many of us believed that dads from the past were excused from knowing their kids, and only expected chores and obedience. Iris and Lily certainly had some bumps in their paths but came out stronger because of it. Their mother anx involved in the woman's movement and decided she couldn't be a slave to her husband's home. I do not think you would need to be part of a large Catholic family to enjoy this book but it does help you to understand some of the background? They discover while reading each others' chapters that although they were igis close as children, they knew little of each other as adults.
