This book can strongly be recommended to anybody interested in algebraic geometry and willing to learn about varieties and schemes and their main problems. I am linking this web site to my personal scans of my personal reprints of most of these papers for only non-commercial use. Thanks for telling us about the problem. What was published is the first draft on schemes in general the "Red Book" and the first volume of the full work on classical algebraic geometry!

  1. Leonard D. I worked in andd geometry from to This new edition also includes an overview of the theory of curves, their moduli spaces and their Jacobians. I added a "Foreword for non-mathematicians" to this book in an attempt to give a non-technical description of what algebraic geometry is all about for lay readers.
